"It's a terrific system. The users like it a lot too. We are even doing better financially because our commercial users who need to fill up a huge tank can just use a fob and add funds to their account whenever they want and they don't need to keep a bunch of coins on them. It's just so much more convenient for everyone. I also think the system is a lot more accurate than a coin-operated system. Users are getting exactly what they pay for, no more no less. We have had absolutely zero complaints from users. NONE. And there are none from me either because I think the system is just terrific. I basically never have to worry about it at all. I've had experience with pinpad systems but I really prefer the fob system. It's easier for users, and there is no maintenance required. We did a demo of it when we first installed it, I must have filled up 60-70 loads of water for users. I showed them how easy it was to fill up, that you get a digital receipt right away whenever you fill up, and how it shows you your remaining balance. We weren't sure how quickly users would transition to the fob system, but when they saw how easy it was the system immediately sold itself. I used to have to empty the coins out every week otherwise it would overfill, and then we would have to spend time rolling the coins and taking them to the bank. Plus users would need to carry a lot of coins on them too."
"We had an issue in the beginning getting one of our systems calibrated to the correct flow, but that was resolved very promptly. Everything is working fantastic."
"I really like the WFS systems we have from ConX. Our only issue was due to our new electrician accidentally moving the systems off of our master switch. After we moved it back, we have had absolutely zero issues. The systems are excellent and they work great."

"Everything is going great and there have been no glitches in our 7 Water Fill Stations. We had one Coin-operated system before. The ConX System is such an improvement for me and the users. Whenever anyone has an issue getting water at one of the sites, I can just go 'zip-zip-zip' quickly with my mouse and immediately tell them what the issue is, which is usually that they have a low balance and ignored or forgot about the email they received about needing to top up their account. It is so nice that I can go in and look it up and tell them exactly what is wrong. Some of our users aren't great with cell phones so they just call me before they get water if they are unsure about their balance and it is so simple for me to let them know the total of their balance."

Water users have made several positive remarks that they quite like the new system. Shortly after Christmas, our coin box went down and we saw a huge influx of people buying and signing up for a fob account. Now even less people are using coins. Others have commented that it is much more convenient to use the fob than carry around a bunch of change; we hear this from regular users especially, as it was a lot of coin for them to have on hand. It seems that newer coins, 5-8 years old, don't always work with the coin receptor either; we are finding more and more people are continuing to switch over and are happy with the upgrade."
"Everything has gone well. We have had the new Water Fill System running for a couple months now. We previously had a coinop and experienced some push back from the public, as nobody likes change. This was not a problem once users realized how easy and convenient the new system is to use. Now users are only paying for water that goes in their tank. With the coinop, we would end up shorting water based on the money users had put in; they would always get a bit less than they were suppose to and this wasn't fair. Users have commented that they like being able to pre-set their fob for a certain number of gallons; this has been a helpful feature. We are very happy with the upgrade."

"The Water Fill System has helped us to track water usage and allows Administration to bill people easily. We previously had an open well with no way to do either of these things. Rate payers have not complained about the access system; they only had an initial problem with the Municipality charging for water because they were previously getting it for free. We also have systems on our graders. They help to keep us on track, and allow us to see where guys are and what roads have been done. I am not micromanaging the guys by any means, but the system is also there to answer to rate payer complaints. The reports are easy to generate from my account and everything has been straightforward to use."

"I am so happy the Municipality went ahead with the Water Fill System upgrade. It has taken a great deal of nuisance calls away and has freed up Public Works Staff's time. With the previous coin-op, users would call because it never consistently worked. Coin jams and other problems would upset people and users were beating the crap out of it. Once a week, we were having to service the coinop. I am so grateful we have the new system. I love the idea that we don't have the money on site anymore. Now users simply buy a fob, load their account, touch it to the device and away they go. The fob system was part of our first ever bulk water station set-up and it has been a breeze to use, always super straightforward and painless. We also have a gate system at our Boat Launch. We previously had a locked gate and there were several keys being passed around for unauthorized use. The fob system provides a one-step access for users, and managing the system is very simple. We are able to set different rates for different users and they pre-pay accordingly. It is really helpful to see who was there and how often, resulting in relevant data. We have also had instances where the gate has been left open and the ConX System notifies us and the user so that we can close it. Both systems serve our needs well. The management through the ConX online platform is very comfortable to use and the ConX team offers great training for understanding the platform and are always communicative and timely when answering questions."

We did a demo of it when we first installed it, I must have filled up 60-70 loads of water for users. I showed them how easy it was to fill up, that you get a digital receipt right away whenever you fill up, and how it shows you your remaining balance. We weren't sure how quickly users would transition to the fob system, but when they saw how easy it was the system immediately sold itself. I used to have to empty the coins out every week otherwise it would overfill, and then we would have to spend time rolling the coins and taking them to the bank. Plus users would need to carry a lot of coins on them too."

"We absolutely love our conX Wireless bulk water access system. With our old coinOp, we had to recycle older loonies and toonies and keep large amounts of change on hand to give to water users because the coinOp only accepted the older coins. It was a major headache for us. With the ConX system, there is no cash required. Our water users can pay by e-transfer, credit card online, or come into the office if they choose. Outside of office hours, I have access to the system from my phone. So, if I get an email from a user asking to add credit, I can do it right from my phone or any other web connected device. "We have operated the ConX Access system at seven of our bulk water stations for two years now. Before that we used a combination of coinOp's, prepaid cards and open access systems. At the coin-operated sites we dealt with theft and vandalism due to the cash boxes at each location. We also had to manually collect the coins and count, roll, and deposit them to the bank. This was very time consuming. Our pre-paid card systems had constant issues with the readers not scanning the cards properly and so we had to manually clean the readers regularly. At the open access sites, we were spending a lot of time and money on repairs from user negligence for services we were not making any revenue from. "With our old Pinpad system there was no connection to our office. Any time we had to make a change or collect data we had to physically go to the site and plug into the system hardware. This restricted us in a lot of ways and was not for efficient for our staff. We were only able to provide post-pay billing which consisted of downloading the data at the site, reviewing the data and manually generating invoices for each water user. That was half the battle. We then had to chase people down to pay their water bills which was time consuming and cost the town in unpaid water invoices. With our ConX Wireless bulk water access system, we have full access to the system from any device with internet access. We receive all the water usage data directly to our office computers. "I've been using bulk water systems for about 8 years now. In that time, I have experienced coin-operated systems, key-accessed systems and most recently, the ConX Wireless Key fob-based system. I have to say, it really was a hassle to have coins on me all the time to use the coinOp system. "The Text2Car system was purchased by the RM of Moosomin in 2017, starting with two water fob systems. In 2018, an additional three units were purchased. The system has been very easy to use by our consumers and provides up to date report information to the administrator at the click of a button. "We were having difficulty with our old coin-op system. It was very frustrating with only specific coin sizes being accepted by the system. "Our bulk water wells were accessed using a key system. Our water users paid an annual fee and were provided with a key to have unlimited access to the system. We constantly had issues with people jamming a screwdriver into the key mechanism attempting to get water and causing costly damage. On top of that we had no idea if the keys were being passed around and copied. And the water was not metered so we had no idea how much water was being used. We really didn't have any control over our water. We chose to purchase the ConX Bulk Water station package to fix this. Now, only water users with an authorized fob can access the bulk water. This is viewed as a very fair way to operate the system by our users. We now know who, when, how much and how often our water is being used and bill accordingly. I can allow or remove access for any user from my computer in the office. "The RM of Snipe Lake has many rural water wells that supply ratepayers with water for agriculture use and domestic water on farms. (Note: the domestic water is not considered to be potable water). We decided to do a test project on two water wells in Division 4 which I'm the present councillor. The reason we picked these wells is that this site is in the vicinity of two neighbouring Rural Municipality. The well water is free of charge and 100% funded by the RM of Snipe Lake. We have Text2Car (ConX Wireless) on most of our graders and gravel trucks that are used in the RM. They informed us that they have equipment that can gather information for us. Here are the criteria of what we wanted to be able to do: We requested that the information, administration, activation, and deactivation to be handled at the RM office. Water users are required to come to the RM of Snipe Lake office to apply for access. This way we can identify the users. We have built bylaws that state the requirements for water well users. The Text2Car (ConX Wireless) system meets these requirements. Here are the requirements at the water well site: We had looked at cards with magnetic strips or key fobs (magnets with identification). In talking with people using cards with magnetic strips, there seemed to be a lot of issues with the card or the reader for the card mostly in cold or wet conditions and that cards were prepaid and they needed to put in identification codes. We chose the key fob system. The equipment needed to run on the power available at site. There are no large modifications or added structures required and it is user friendly. "Since the installation we have had very little trouble with the unit. The original unit had a small activation button to start unit. We got it upgraded to a larger button. We had very few people that had issues with the unit. It is a very simple three step procedure. I personally get e-mails to me to tell me how much water I have loaded each time. What I now know is how important this water well system is to domestic and agriculture users. I also have seen a large increase in the size of tanks used for hauling water. (200-gallon tank to 9000-gallon tankers). We are seeing significant changes in the wells due to long run times. We have had this for just about two years. We soon can trend for two years. We also past on the information to the Town of Eston and they have installed this system on their water filling station for rural users. The old system they had was coin operated and very inaccurate due to town water pressure. The new system is like the one the Rm of Snipe Lake has except it also has a flowmeter. This is required when you are charging for the water. Rate payers that use the town water are very happy with the system. They can prepay for there water at town office instead of a pocket full of coins or a prepaid credit card style at the other location they have."

"You require cellular service in the well area. The unit is self contained and easy to mount. We install a bypass system in case of equipment failure. (We have only used once when we upgraded unit). The wiring of the unit is not complicated and requires an interconnecting relay to the control circuit. It was very easy to calculate flow rate for system. Weigh an empty container (1000-gallon tank). Fill with water. Record time in minutes. Re-weigh tank. Divided weight difference by 10 (lbs per gallon of water) then divide number by time to give gallons per minute. For better accuracy you can interconnect a flow meter."
