""It’s a terrific system. The users like it a lot too. We are even doing better financially because our commercial users who need to fill up a huge tank can just use a fob and add funds to their account whenever they want and they don’t need to keep a bunch of coins on them. It’s just so much more convenient for everyone. I also think the system is a lot more accurate than a coin-operated system. Users are getting exactly what they pay for, no more no less. We have had absolutely zero complaints from users. NONE. And there are none from me either because I think the system is just terrific. I basically never have to worry about it at all. I’ve had experience with pinpad systems but I really prefer the fob system. It’s easier for users, and there is no maintenance required. We did a demo of it when we first installed it, I must have filled up 60-70 loads of water for users. I showed them how easy it was to fill up, that you get a digital receipt right away whenever you fill up, and how it shows you your remaining balance. We weren’t sure how quickly users would transition to the fob system, but when they saw how easy it was the system immediately sold itself. I used to have to empty the coins out every week otherwise it would overfill, and then we would have to spend time rolling the coins and taking them to the bank. Plus users would need to carry a lot of coins on them too."

"The ConX gate system for our lagoon has been working wonderfully. We are able to track who entered the lagoon, when they left, what size of truck they had, and bill users appropriately. We are also notified whenever the gate is left open, and so is the user who left it open in the first place! It's made things so much easier for us and our revenue has increased significantly now that operators are forced to be honest about their usage. Before we purchased the ConX gate system, we were using an honour system for our lagoon. Users were given a key to the gate and they were supposed to record every visit, what they were dumping, and how much. But that really wasn't happening at all. They also were frequently leaving the gate open and on top of that we had no idea if people were giving their keys to others or if copies were being made."

Others have commented that it is much more convenient to use the fob than carry around a bunch of change; we hear this from regular users especially, as it was a lot of coin for them to have on hand. We also really appreciate it as far as our work alone policy and being able to see where our equipment is. "Everything has gone well. We have had the new Water Fill System running for a couple months now. We previously had a coinop and experienced some push back from the public, as nobody likes change. This was not a problem once users realized how easy and convenient the new system is to use. Now users are only paying for water that goes in their tank. With the coinop, we would end up shorting water based on the money users had put in; they would always get a bit less than they were suppose to and this wasn't fair. Users have commented that they like being able to pre-set their fob for a certain number of gallons; this has been a helpful feature. We are very happy with the upgrade."

This has been especially great for mowing, to keep track of what has been done and plan for where to go next. I accessed the system a lot for our mowing operations this past season. We receive automatic monthly reports for both our Graders and Mowers, and I love not having to generate them myself. I forward these reports to Council each month, which keeps them in the know of what has been done. Our Reeve likes being able to log into his account and see where equipment is at, as well as keep track of what is going on without making a bunch of phone calls. This allows him to answer phone calls/complaints without a middle man. We just finished marking our culverts and other assets with the X-it device; that was an absolute breeze. I am looking forward to utilizing the digital map that it provides for Asset Management purposes. Additionally, I hope to play with the Road-Segment-Analytics feature more and plan to use this to put a value to some of our roads for grant purposes. I will likely book a refresher training session, as I believe this feature can provide a lot of benefit. The included Snow Maps feature is currently being used internally, but we may decide to make it public down the road. I have nothing but good things to say about the ConX Systems and the service we have been provided!"
"We did not have any tracking systems on our Mowers previous to this. It is nice because I can check in on an operator without being in his way. It is not used to follow them around, but more to see if they are having issues. I also like that I can see run-time hours on the tractors to see if any maintenance is due. The Mower Systems are great for the operators who now have less stress, knowing they don't have to pull out until they hear a beep in the cab. In a low spot, they wouldn't otherwise know where a culvert is or if there even is one and this can be very stressful; this takes that equation right out of it. The staff at ConX were also helpful in making some necessary adjustments to our system settings, and we were very grateful for this."

I was contacted when the police showed up and was able to open my account on my phone and locate the stolen vehicle immediately. If someone is idling too long, I have the systems set to email me beyond the set threshold so we can phone and check on staff/go to them if necessary. We also use the system to assist with billing purposes, and can do this without a bunch of paperwork and/or follow-ups. "We have operated the ConX Access system at seven of our bulk water stations for two years now. Before that we used a combination of coinOp’s, prepaid cards and open access systems. At the coin-operated sites we dealt with theft and vandalism due to the cash boxes at each location. We also had to manually collect the coins and count, roll, and deposit them to the bank. This was very time consuming. Our pre-paid card systems had constant issues with the readers not scanning the cards properly and so we had to manually clean the readers regularly. At the open access sites, we were spending a lot of time and money on repairs from user negligence for services we were not making any revenue from. None of these systems provided any actual data of activity at the sites beyond revenue collected and total water volume distributed. We installed the ConX bulk water access system to alleviate all of these challenges. We no longer have to deal with any cash on site so no collecting coins or fixing damage from theft. The key fob readers in the ConX hardware work great and the amount of complaints we get now is almost nothing compared to the card readers, so we are saving a lot of time in that regard. We were able to change our free sites into pay-for-volume to generate enough revenue to maintain the service. "With our old Pinpad system there was no connection to our office. Any time we had to make a change or collect data we had to physically go to the site and plug into the system hardware. This restricted us in a lot of ways and was not for efficient for our staff. We were only able to provide post-pay billing which consisted of downloading the data at the site, reviewing the data and manually generating invoices for each water user. That was half the battle. We then had to chase people down to pay their water bills which was time consuming and cost the town in unpaid water invoices. With our ConX Wireless bulk water access system, we have full access to the system from any device with internet access. We receive all the water usage data directly to our office computers. No more time spent manually downloading data at the site. We have moved to a pre-paid account system for 99% of our users. No more chasing people down for money. The few large volume users we have that prefer post-pay invoicing still receive their invoices like before. They are very reliable but if for whatever reason an invoice goes unpaid, we have full control from the office to disable any water user’s account with the click of a button. For prepaid account users, we have the flexibility to receive payments through email money transfers and thencan add that credit to a water account from anywhere, on any device (Phone, laptop, tablet, desktop), 24 hrs a day. Last of all, our water treatment plant can only produce so much potable water daily and with the ConX system, we can control the hrs of operation that users can receive water. In the busy summer season, we restrict access from 8pm to 8am to allow the plant time to refill our potable water supply. I would recommend the ConX system to any municipality looking for a cost-effective way to manage their bulk water operations."
